The Phoenix Suns dropped Game 3 of the NBA Finals to the Milwaukee Bucks by a score of 120-100 on Sunday night. However, Suns center Deandre Ayton continued his storied first career postseason with another great performance and offers some dark-horse value in the NBA Finals MVP odds.

NBA Finals MVP Odds

Ayton currently has the fourth-best odds to win the NBA Finals MVP award at +8000, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Despite his early success in this series, that price has dropped significantly from where it was at heading into the Finals (+2500).

The 22-year-old star finished Game 3 with 18 points (8-11 shooting), 9 rebounds and 2 steals. He has now shot 20-31 (64.5%) in this series and is averaging 16.7 points and 13 rebounds per game. Ayton has simply been a double-double machine and is proving his worth to this team every night.

Ayton trails just three other players in the odds including Chris Paul (-260), Giannis Antetokounmpo (+220) and Devin Booker (+1600). Paul put in another veteran performance in Game 3 (19 points, 9 assists), but Booker struggled shooting 3-14 (21.4%) from the field for 10 points and 6 rebounds.

If the Suns go on to win the NBA Finals, Ayton has a shot to lock up the MVP award given he continues to be a formidable force in the paint. The former Arizona Wildcat has been a model of consistency for head coach Monty Williams and there is no reason to believe that will stop anytime soon.
