NBA DFS 4/5/2022

Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Tuesday, 4/5, NBA DFS action.

FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 4/5

Scottie Barnes Fantasy

Target Scottie Barnes, SF/PF, Toronto Raptors ($6,400): It's important to avoid anchoring your lineup around players involved in possible blowouts on Tuesday night. Backing Scottie Barnes in a game against the Hawks lines up perfectly given the 4-point spread. The rookie out of Florida State is averaging 19.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists over his last two games and now faces an Atlanta team that has posted the fifth-worst defensive efficiency mark in the NBA. The Hawks also give up an opponent shooting percentage of 47.0% (No. 24 in NBA), so look for Barnes to knock down enough jumpers to be well worth his price tag.

Jalen Green Fantasy

Target Jalen Green, SG, Houston Rockets ($6,700): Jalen Green is going to continue being highlighted as a DFS target as long as price stays this low. The Houston rookie has simply been on fire over his last six games. Green is averaging 29.0 points during that span, while knocking down an impressive 5.5 three-pointers per contest. The 20-year-old should see north of 35 minutes going up against a Brooklyn defense that is giving up 121.7 points per game over its last three. Keep in mind both of these teams play at a top-10 pace as well. There's going to be a lot of buckets being scored in this one.

Tre Jones Fantasy

Target Tre Jones, PG, San Antonio Spurs ($3,700): Point guard Dejounte Murray is set to miss his third consecutive game with an illness and that opens up the door for Tre Jones to draw another start. The second-year pro has taken full advantage over the last two games by posting a combined 27 points, 16 assists and 12 rebounds. He draws a great matchup against a Denver defense that gives up the third-most fantasy points to opposing PGs. Jones is surrounded by capable shooters, which makes a double-double seem like an attainable goal on Tuesday night. Having Jones in your lineup at this price is a no brainer.

LaMelo Ball Fantasy

Avoid LaMelo Ball, PG, Charlotte Hornets ($9,300): This is just too high of a price tag for LaMelo Ball tonight. Not only do the Miami Heat own the fifth-best defensive efficiency mark in the NBA, but they also give up the fewest fantasy points to opposing point guards. Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry regularly wreak havoc on opposing ball handlers and Ball knows that firsthand. After all, he is shooting just 30.0% from the floor against Miami across three head-to-head matchups this season (12-for-40). This slate has 12 games to choose from, which means there's a ton of other options at the PG position with more advantageous matchups. Avoid Ball on Tuesday night.

Nikola Vucevic Fantasy

Avoid Nikola Vucevic, C, Chicago Bulls ($7,600): Nikola Vucevic has built a reputation for balling out in the easy matchups and struggling in the difficult ones this season. Well, facing the Bucks certainly does not line up as easy. Milwaukee is allowing just 43.6 points in the paint per game (No. 4 in NBA) and gives up the seventh-fewest fantasy points to opposing centers. Vucevic's production may come down to his three-point shooting and that's not good news considering he is shooting just 31.8% from beyond the arc this year. That is his lowest mark since the 2017 season. It's a good idea to stay away from someone set to go one-on-one with Giannis Antetokounmpo at the rim.
