NBA DFS 12/9/2021

Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Thursday, 12/9, NBA DFS action.

FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 12/9

Nikola Jokic Fantasy

Target Nikola Jokic, C, Denver Nuggets ($11,100): Nikola Jokic is rolling. He's put up back-to-back triple doubles and averaging 26.0 points, 12.8 rebounds and 9.0 assists in five games following his return from injury. The Spurs are in the top half of the league for most opponent PPG allowed and they're giving up the sixth-most RPG, making this a prime opportunity for Jokic to have another big night.

Donovan Mitchell Fantasy

Target Donovan Mitchell, PG/SG, Utah Jazz ($8,400): Donovan Mitchell has been nothing but consistent over his past five games. He's recorded at least 42 FanDuel fantasy points in each contest during that span, and he's scored 30-plus in four out of five games. Mitchell's shooting an impressive 57.3% from the field and 43.8% from deep during this hot stretch. He could be the best bang for your buck at this moderate price.

Jaren Jackson Jr. Fantasy

Target Jaren Jackson Jr., PF/C, Memphis Grizzlies ($6,200): Jaren Jackson is impressing as of late. He's put up 25 or more points in three of his last five games, and he's hit at least 41.5 fantasy points in each of those three contests. He gets a vulnerable matchup in the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, who are giving up the third-most PPG to opponents. They also surrender the fifth-most RPG, giving JJJ a legit double-double chance. He's worth a stab at this cost.

Russell Westbrook Fantasy

Avoid Russell Westbrook, PG, Los Angeles Lakers ($9,600): Russell Westbrook's upside is capped given the Lakers' options on offense. He's averaging just 35.7 fantasy points over his last three games, with his scoring or playmaking taking a backseat depending on the night. He's also averaging 4.6 turnovers per game this year, which detracts from his fantasy production. Westbrook is a risky play as the sixth-most expensive player on the slate.

Rudy Gobert Fantasy

Avoid Rudy Gobert, C, Utah Jazz ($9,000): Rudy Gobert's scoring struggles have cut into his recent fantasy numbers. He's recorded single-digit points in three of his last six outings, and his rebounding numbers have dipped during a recent stretch of games against top big men like Karl-Anthony Towns and Jonas Valanciunas. His bad matchup luck continues with Joel Embiid in town on Thursday. It's hard to see Gobert thriving offensively with his recent play, and Philly's Embiid-Andre Drummond center rotation presents a huge threat to the Jazz big man's rebounding numbers.
