NBA DFS 11/5/2021

Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Friday, 11/5, NBA DFS action.

FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 11/5

Darius Garland Fantasy

Target Darius Garland, PG, Cleveland Cavaliers ($5,900): Third-year pro Darius Garland is starting to take charge in this Cleveland backcourt and it has caused his value in NBA DFS to jump. He is averaging 29.4 FanDuel DFS fantasy points per game, which is solid production for his current price tag. Garland is also coming off a game in which he set a season-high mark in minutes played (36) and points scored (19). The Cavaliers are missing both Kevin Love and Lauri Markkanen to injuries tonight and that puts more pressure on Garland to perform. Look for the 21-year-old to keep his hot start to the season going.

Dejounte Murray Fantasy

Target Dejounte Murray, SG, San Antonio Spurs ($10,700): San Antonio should have no trouble dicing up a poor Orlando defense on the offensive side of the court. The Magic have posted the fourth-worst defensive efficiency mark this season and are giving up an opponent 2-point field goal percentage of 53.6% (No. 26 in NBA). That is good news for guard Dejounte Murray, who regularly drives to the hoop and crashes the boards. Murray is going to be trusted to be a primary scorer in this game with big man Jakob Poeltl in the health and safety protocols. The former Washington standout can flirt with a triple-double tonight if this game doesn't turn into a blowout.

Karl-Anthony Towns Fantasy

Target Karl-Anthony Towns, C, Minnesota Timberwolves ($10,200): Having center Karl-Anthony Towns in your lineup is going to be expensive, but it is definitely worth it. The Minnesota star has posted back-to-back double-doubles and is the go-to option without guard D'Angelo Russell available to play. Both the Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Clippers rank in the top 10 in pace this season, which means this game has shootout written all over it. Towns has a healthy usage rate of 26.6 on the year and he has seen that number increase over his last few outings. Take the salary hit knowing the All-Star is in for a massive game.

Kyle Anderson Fantasy

Avoid Kyle Anderson, SF, Memphis Grizzlies ($5,00): The Memphis Grizzlies have one of the youngest rosters in the NBA and have been contempt with letting their draft picks develop on the court together. The spells bad news for veterans like Kyle Anderson, who is seeing just over 22 minutes per game after averaging over 27 minutes played per game last year. The Grizzlies are tied for the eighth-highest scoring average in the NBA (110.9), yet Anderson is only averaging 8.5 points per game and shooting 40.0% from the field. It'd be best to avoid having him in the lineup tonight against a Washington Wizards team that ranks right in the middle of the pack in defensive efficiency.

Myles Turner Fantasy

Avoid Myles Turner, PF, Indiana Pacers ($7,000): Indiana's Myles Turner may be the best definition of a hit-or-miss player. The seventh-year pro has finished with 25 or more points in two games this season, but he has also been held to single digits in scoring four different times. His minutes are all over the place and now he has to face a Portland Trail Blazers team that is giving up the 10th-fewest points in the paint per game (43.0). Turner's usage rate of 19.5 pales in comparison to some of his teammates and it wouldn't be surprising to see Indiana focus on outside shooting tonight. That leaves little room for Turner produce at his price tag.
