NBA DFS 1/31/2022

Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Monday, 1/31, NBA DFS action.

FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 1/31

Andrew Wiggins Fantasy

Target Andrew Wiggins, SF, Golden State Warriors ($6,000): Small forward Andrew Wiggins is coming off one of his best games of the season in which he racked up 24 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals. He has a great opportunity to keep that success going against a poor Houston defense. The Rockets have posted the worst defensive efficiency mark in the NBA and give up a whopping 117.3 points per game at home this season (No. 30 in NBA). It's worth mentioning that both of these teams play at a top-10 pace in the NBA and the point total is set at 230. More possessions means more chances for Wiggins to fill up the stat sheet.

Julius Randle Fantasy

Target Julius Randle, PF, New York Knicks ($8,300): It's been an up-and-down season so far for Knicks' big man Julius Randle. Yes, his scoring has been inconsistent. However, he draws the perfect matchup for a bounce-back game on Monday night. The Sacramento Kings allow 117.6 points per game on the road this season as well as an opponent shooting percentage of 47.2% (No. 27 in NBA). Not only that, but the Kings also give up the seventh-most rebounds per contest (54.9). All things considered, Sacramento's lack of defensive prowess should allow Randle to put together one of his classic big games. After all, he logged 21 points and 14 rebounds the last time he faced this team.

Anfernee Simons Fantasy

Target Anfernee Simons, PG/SG, Portland Trail Blazers ($6,900): It's safe to say that guard Anfernee Simons has stepped up in place of injured star Damian Lillard lately. The 22-year-old is averaging 24.1 points, 7.0 assists and 2.8 rebounds in the 14 games since being inserted into the starting lineup. Simons is especially thriving from three-point range (40.8% on the year), which should come in handy on Monday night. Oklahoma City is giving up the fourth-most points per game from three-pointers in the NBA (40.5). The Thunder are also allowing the most assists per game to opposing point guards (9.36). Look for Simons to hit some threes and dish out the ball on Monday night.

Jayson Tatum Fantasy

Avoid Jayson Tatum, SF/PF, Boston Celtics ($9,800): Forward Jayson Tatum is starting to emerge as a true All-Star and has scored over 35 points in three of his last four games. That doesn't mean he is worth a hefty price tag of $9,800, though. Both the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat play at a bottom-10 pace in the NBA and love to slow the game down, as Miami allows just 104.5 points per game. It's worth mentioning that Tatum racked up 10 points and 8 rebounds in 29 minutes against the Heat during their first matchup in November. Miami is banged up right now, but Tatum could still struggle to justify his salary tonight.

Trae Young Fantasy

Avoid Trae Young, PG, Atlanta Hawks ($9,000): There's a possibility that point guard Trae Young doesn't even play tonight as he deals with a lingering shoulder injury. If he does suit up, it's going to be hard for him to live up to his price tag against Toronto. The Raptors have simply been shutting down opposing point guards all season long. They are giving up the second-fewest points to the position (20.67) in addition to the fifth-fewest assists (7.76). Taking away the parts of the game in which Young excels in suddenly leaves him with little upside. There are options out there that will put up similar numbers at a much lower cost.
