Najee Harris Injury Update Improves Jaylen Warren Fantasy Outlook Ahead of Week 2

Steelers bell cow running back Najee Harris exited Pittsburgh's Week 1 overtime win in the fourth quarter with an apparent ankle injury and did not return. Taken as a RB6 and No. 8 overall according to preseason ADP, his injury update will have massive ripple effects for fantasy managers once the severity of the ailment is revealed.
Overall, Pittsburgh's camp was positive following the final whistle on Sunday. But this is still a situation to watch throughout the week, giving Jaylen Warren some waiver wire upside heading into Week 2.
Najee Harris Injury Update
The initial reports called Harris' issue a "foot injury" although video of the incident shows the second-year back rolling his ankle.

Making matters worse was a video of Harris walking into the locker room following the game with an obvious limp.

At this point, the Steeles indicated they are "hopeful" their stud RB will be good to go for Week 2, but it's entirely too early to tell.
Harris is no stranger to foot issues, either. The rookie Pro Bowler dealt with a slight Lisfranc issue during training camp and has a history of ankle ailments dating back to his college days at Alabama.
Jaylen Warren Fantasy Outlook
Warren's fantasy outlook offers potential value this week, should Harris either not play in Week 2 or serve in limited action. The rookie from Oklahoma State was very limited in Pittsburgh's opening win, rushing the ball just three times. He did rack up 37% of the offensive snaps and that number will skyrocket if Harris misses time.
An undrafted free agent, Warren impressed Mike Tomlin's coaching staff in training camp following a terrific senior campaign at Oklahoma State. The Clinton, NC native was a true workhorse and put together 1,216 rushing yards on 256 attempts for 11 rushing touchdowns.
Fantasy managers will be eager for Harris injury updates throughout the week, but it's best to start game planning for his possible absence immediately when the waiver wire opens up for Week 2.
