After an extended wait, the 2022 MLB season is finally here. Baseball action officially kicks off on Thursday, April 7 with seven games scheduled on Opening Day.

Here's everything you need to know ahead of the 2022 regular season.

Opening Day is set for Thursday, April 7. The MLB has 14 teams in action for seven games. Of today's seven games, two will be nationally televised. Local fans can view the other five games on their regional sports networks.

Opening Day Weather

In just early April, temperatures around the country may present some questionable weather conditions. Notably, two MLB games were already postponed due to inclement weather including the Boston Red Sox vs New York Yankees, and Seattle Mariners vs Minnesota Twins.

The Padres vs Diamondbacks matchup shows the best forecast on today's slate, with temperatures reaching 92 degrees and sunny in Phoenix, AZ.

On the other hand, the Brewers vs Cubs matchup will deal with a high of 43 degrees today in Chicago, IL.

Red Sox vs Yankees Postponed

The Boston Red Sox were scheduled to clash with the New York Yankees on Thursday, April 7. This game was postponed due to weather and will now be played at 1:05 p.m. ET on Friday, April 8.

Mariners vs Twins Postponed

The Seattle Mariners vs Minnesota Twins were also schedule for Thursday's Opening Day festivities. This game was postponed due to weather and will be played at 4:10 p.m. ET on Friday, April 8.

Chicago Weather

The Chicago, IL forecast calls for questionable weather in the Brewers vs Cubs matchup. Temperatures are only supposed to reach 43 degrees and there's up to a 54% chance of rain showers.
