The Boston Red Sox used a feverish 20-6 record in June to jump two spots in the AL East standings. While overtaking the 15.0 game deficit to the New York Yankees in the division standings may be a tall task, Boston is standing strong in the AL Wild Card race.

This team will likely be stuck in a tight postseason push for the rest of the season, which highlights the importance of making important roster tweaks ahead of the trade deadline. MLB insider Mark Feinsand listed one perfect fit to fill the Red Sox's glaring need at first base.

Feinsand names Washington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell to solve this area. In seven MLB seasons with the Nationals and Pittsburgh Pirates, Bell has done nothing but mash baseballs. And now entering his final year before unrestricted free agency, the 29-year-old is enjoying a career year.

Bell touts a .310/.393/.502 slash line, including 12 home runs and 47 RBIs. He's also played an MLB-leading 84 games and his .310 batting average is the best mark of his career.

Bell is a strong contrast to Boston's inability to find consistent performances from first basemen Bobby Dalbec and Franchy Cordero. The pair have combined for just 40 RBIs and both are batting below .260 on the season.

Boston's collective .609 OPS for first baseman actually ranks 29th of 30 MLB teams, and it's a position that will need addressing if the Red Sox hope to punch their second straight postseason appearance.
