Mike Soroka proved to be a decent fantasy baseball pitcher in the few starts he made for the Atlanta Braves last season. Now, he's getting the opportunity to prove himself with the defending NL East champions once again.

The 21-year-old right-hander will make his season debut on Thursday afternoon against the Arizona Diamondbacks at SunTrust Park, where he owns a 3.48 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in two career starts.

One of several highly-touted young arms in Atlanta's farm system, Soroka is an intriguing fantasy option, for those in need of pitching help this week.

Granted, starting a rookie pitcher against a veteran D-backs team that owns a collective .822 OPS doesn't seem ideal at first glance. However, Soroka's strikeout potential against a free-swinging Arizona ballclub that features six everyday players with double-digit strikeouts this season is too hard to ignore.

If Soroka holds true to form and displays the strikeout stuff that made him one of the game's top pitching prospects, a quality start could be in the cards for Thursday afternoon making him a solid streaming option. And if this ends up being more than just a spot start, you've likely got yourself a pitcher with high-strikeout potential for the foreseeable future.
