Chris Godwin's breakout was the early-season story in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offense. Not to be denied, though, Mike Evans has returned to form with a series of strong fantasy football outings.
Evans caught nine passes for 96 yards on a season-high six targets in Week 6 before exploding for 11 receptions, 198 yards and two TDs (on 12 targets) in Week 8. Now in Week 9, against the Seattle Seahawks, he has opened the game with a huge first half, catching seven of nine targets for 88 yards and a touchdown as the Bucs carried a 21-13 lead into halftime.
Evans and Godwin both entered Week 9 ranking in the top four among wide receivers by averaging north of 20.0 PPR fantasy points per game. Already above 20 again in the first half, Evans' ranking won't be falling this week.
The duo should both be considered WR1 options moving forward, and they're not likely to slow down in the near future. In Week 10, they draw an outstanding matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, who entered Week 9 allowing the NFL's fourth-most points and fourth-most yards per game. Such a strong matchup makes Evans an early threat to be the top wide receiver fantasy option for the week.
