Widely regarded as the best receiver in fantasy football heading into this season, we have not seen much of Michael Thomas this year. In fact, we haven't seen him since Week 1, when the New Orleans Saints hosted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Following a positive injury update, however, it appears Thomas will be welcomed back to the lineup on Sunday Night Football, as the Saints take on the Buccaneers yet again,

There have been many things to keep Thomas off the field since the first week. First, he has dealing with a nagging ankle injury. When he was about to return, he received punishment from his team due to fighting and in-organization drama.

And just as he was about to bounce back from that, a hamstring injury suffered in practice kept him out of the lineup again. After practicing this week, it appears he is healthy enough to give it a go tonight.

Despite facing an elite Tampa defense, Thomas' return immediately puts him in the WR1 conversation, especially in PPR scoring. Brees will look to his top receiver often, as he attempts to take the touchdown record back from Tom Brady.

Thomas is currently ranked as WR7 in our Week 9 PPR fantasy football rankings.
