Mets Reveal When Kodai Senga Will Make Spring Training Debut

The New York Mets landed one of the biggest prizes of this year's free-agent class by signing international star Kodai Senga to a five-year deal. Fans are excited to see him in action, but he hasn't taken the mound yet for New York during Spring Training.
On Tuesday, though, the Mets finally revealed when Senga will make his debut.

Senga is scheduled to start against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday, March 5. This is the final step for the Japanese native after he threw a live batting practice session on Tuesday.
Eager fans will make sure to tune in for Senga's first action in a Mets uniform. He has been getting used to a new mound slope and ball size than he previously played with, which delayed his debut by a few days.
Senga was reportedly already hitting 96 mph on his fastball to begin Spring Training, so it appears he's settling in nicely. New York will hope the NPB ace picks up right where he left off as he prepares for his first MLB season.
