Football fans in the New York City tri-state area are in for a surprise during Super Bowl Sunday. The commercials are always one of the most entertaining aspects of Super Bowl Sunday. Usually, these commercials center around the market's most popular brands, from Budweiser to Coca-Cola, but the tri-state area is in for a treat.

It was recently revealed the New York Mets have purchased an ad to run locally in New York. Mets fans caught a glimpse of the full ad before Sunday's kickoff.

New York's stars headline the commercial spot, which opens up with Brandon Nimmo running to answer a phone call in the team's ticketing department. The ad then jumps over to superstar shortstop Francisco Lindor speaking to a headset, making a joke that in section 139, "yeah, you can see my hair from there."

Kodai Senga then makes an appearance, face-timing with Tomás Nido. Nido then relays a message from Senga to the caller that his "ghost fork" is not a real ghost. Lindor makes another appearance before Mr. Met appears and the spot finally wraps with closed Edwin Diaz, "your tickets are confirmed." After hanging up, he jokes to himself, "yes, the closer!"

It's an awesome way for the Mets to show their personality ahead of the 2023 season. As owner Steve Cohen explained, the goal is for the Mets to become a brand, not just a baseball team.
