Jacob deGrom sent shockwaves throughout the MLB offseason when he opted to sign a lengthy five-year, $185 million contract with the Texas Rangers on Friday. This ended his illustrious nine-year career with the New York Mets and represents the first superstar domino to fall in free agency.

While the Mets' fanbase is still reeling from this gut-punch loss, that didn't stop the franchise from making a classy gesture on social media.

The Mets' Twitter account posted a touching tribute video to their two-time Cy Young award winner and the most talented pitcher on the face of the planet.

Seriously, this video will give you chills. Set to the background sound of SNY broadcast calls, the video takes us through a series of deGrom's best moments in New York. It kicks off with his first MLB start (long hair included) before a never-ending mix of his best strikeouts. This includes the 1,000th strikeout of his career.

The video then parlays into deGrom's later year, evidenced by his short haircut and of course, more strikeouts. New York was also keen to include some of deGrom's best moments working with the local community and a list of his numerous accolades (Rookie of the Year, two Cy Young awards).

The video wraps with a simple message reading, "Thank You, Jake. - Mets"
