Winning is said to be a cure for just about anything. There may be no better example of that than the 2022 New York Mets. Undoubtedly there's a variety of reasons behind this, including new manager Buck Showalter, but the Mets are one of the best teams in baseball with an 18-9 first-place record in the NL East.

Just about a year after the infamous dugout clash between Francisco Lindor and Jeff McNeil, the two seem to be getting along in perfect harmony. In fact, Mets fans can thank Lindor for McNeil's career dish at the plate.

McNeil's .337 batting average is on pace for a career-year at the dish, and ranks top-10 in baseball. And Lindor is partly to thank.

According to Mets insider Mike Puma, Lindor offered McNeil a sweet incentive if he's able to keep up the early-season success and go on to win the batting title. Lindor told McNeil he would buy him a car.

Puma notes that it's unclear "what kind of car" we're talking about, but considering Lindor makes $32 million a year, it's safe to assume it'll be a nice one.

Lindor and McNeil have obviously bridged their troubled waters from last year, and the good times keep rolling on in Queens. New York holds the fourth-best odds (+900) to win the 2022 World Series on FanDuel Sportsbook.
