The New York Mets just went through the ringer with Carlos Correa and his super agent Scott Boras for the last two weeks.
Correa ultimately spurned the Mets for a new contract to return to the Minnesota Twins. Now, it seems like Boras might be turning the Mets away from another potential free-agent target, relief pitcher Zack Britton.
Zack Britton Free Agency
The former Yankee is also represented by Boras, which after some tiresome negotiations around Correa, has some in the Mets organization dealing with "Boras fatigue."
Boras isn't the easiest agent to deal with normally, hence why he is considered by players one of the best in the game due to his constant searching for the most lucrative opportunity.
This isn't the first time, and won't be the last we have heard of a team shying away from a Boras-represented player. I suppose you have to take the pros and cons when being represented by someone like Boras, but that hasn't stopped a lot of the games top players from choosing him to be the one at the negotiating table with him.
It's not to say the Mets are completely out on Britton, or other Boras clients, but you could understand if they need a break from dealing with the high-profile agent for a bit. I'm sure Boras isn't exactly inclined to do the Mets any favors right now either.
