The Buffalo Bills may only be one defensive piece away from winning the Super Bowl and have an opportunity to find that missing talent at the upcoming NFL Draft. Bills Mafia will be excited to hear that Mel Kiper has the team projected for a perfect first-round pick in his latest 2022 mock draft.
Bills Mock Draft
Kiper projects cornerback Daxton Hill to be the pick for the Bills at No. 25 overall. The Michigan standout has been flying up draft boards as of late thanks to his versatility. Hill has the ability to play corner or safety and could work wonders under the teachings of defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier.
The 21-year-old ballhawk is coming off the best season of his college career in which he posted 8 pass breakups and 2 interceptions. Hill also racked up 69 tackles (4.5 for loss) and 0.5 sacks across 14 games played.
The Bills saw starting cornerback Levi Wallace leave in free agency this offseason and Tre'Davius White is returning from an ACL injury. Building depth at one of the only weak spots on the roster would be smart for a team that already finished with the No. 1 DVOA rating in the NFL last season.
This may seem like a luxury pick given how well the Bills are set up for another playoff run, but nailing it would bring them that much closer to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1993. All of the firs-round action is set to take place when the 2022 NFL Draft gets underway on Thursday, April 28.
