The 2021 NFL Draft is just about two months away, meaning we are right in the thick of mock draft season. ESPN expert Mel Kiper Jr. decided to join the fun this week with his latest prediction for late April.

Although this mock draft projects multiple trades in the first round, Kiper has the Philadelphia Eagles staying put, and filling a massive hole in the process.

Philadelphia Eagles Mock Draft

One year after they passed on Justin Jefferson in favor of Jalen Reagor, Kiper has the Eagles going wide receiver again in the first round.

At No. 6 overall, he has Philadelphia selecting Ja'Marr Chase out of LSU.

The former All-American and Biletnikoff Award winner took the year off in 2020, but the ability he has previously displayed still speaks for itself. Chase managed 1,780 receiving yards off 84 catches in 2019, with 20 touchdowns on top of that.

Despite his smaller sample size, Chase's raw talent and potential are enough to garner the interest of most NFL franchises. For a team like the Eagles (who currently have a young signal-caller in Jalen Hurts), the promising wide receiver should also help to develop the quarterback position.

New head coach Nick Sirianni has a creative offensive mind, now he just needs the right pieces to put his thoughts into action, and Ja'Marr Chase is a tremendous start.
