NFL Network analyst Maurice Jones-Drew knows a thing or two about running back play, having amassed over 10,000 yards from scrimmage with 79 touchdowns in his NFL career.

That's why fans of the Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles should be pretty excited about his picks for the top second-year running backs primed to break out in the 2020 season.

None of Jones Drew's picks are exactly under-the-radar players, but he likes Devin Singletary, David Montgomery and Miles Sanders to break out this year.

For Singletary, MJD thinks Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll is going to continue leaning heavily on the run, projecting Singletary to see 250 carries on the year — a big jump from his 151 as a rookie.

Montgomery already saw a big workload as a rookie, with 242 carries, but Jones-Drew projects that to climb into the 280-300 range in his sophomore year. He also has Montgomery turning that volume into a 1,000-yard, 10-td campaign.

Sanders had the most encouraging rookie season of the bunch, and Jones-Drew also projects him for the best sophomore season. He has Sanders reaching 1,500 yards from scrimmage and becoming the Eagles' first 1,000-yard rusher since LeSean McCoy last did it in 2014.

Fans of all three teams have to be pretty excited to see their teams' lead backs getting this kind of hype heading into the 2020 season.
