Marquise Brown in 'Elite' Company Following Jersey Number Change

The NFL's jersey number rule change this summer has prompted several players to swap out their threads. Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Marquise Goodwin is joining that list.
After his teammate Patrick Queen made his own change, Goodwin is adopting a new number for the 2021 season. And it's a familiar one in Baltimore.

He is the first Ravens player to wear that number since Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco was traded after the 2018 season.
Marquise Brown Jersey Number
The wideout is switching from No. 15, which he's worn over his first two NFL seasons, to No. 5. Brown actually wore No. 5 while starring at Oklahoma in college. He posted back-to-back seasons with 1,000-plus yards and 17 total TDs over his two years there.
More notably, Brown will be the first player to wear that number since former Ravens QB and Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco donned No. 5 in 2018.
It's possible this number change helps Goodwin finally hit an "elite" level this season. He's coming off of a career year with 58 catches for 769 yards and 8 TDs.
With Sammy Watkins and Rashod Bateman both in town now as well, it could free up the deep threat even more as part of an improved Ravens passing attack in 2021.
