The Baltimore Ravens drafted wide receiver Rashod Bateman No. 27 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft in hopes that he could make an immediate impact on offense. It looks like his role may be getting even bigger as wideout Marquise Brown continues to deal with a hamstring injury.
Brown has now missed three straight practices since he originally removed for "precautionary reasons". It is clear that his injury is more significant than the Ravens first believed and no timetable has been set for his return. While Bateman is also a bit banged up, his status isn't considered serious at this point.

All things considered, Bateman could have an opportunity to become quarterback Lamar Jackson's No. 1 target sooner than expected. Baltimore remains thin at the WR position making Bateman an every week FLEX option. He even has WR2/3 upside if he can showcase some reliability early on.
The 21-year-old pass-catcher excelled over the course of three college seasons at Minnesota racking up 2,395 yards and 19 touchdowns on 147 receptions. The rookie has the hands to win 50/50 balls down the field and the route-running abilities to line up anywhere on the offense.
Bateman currently has an average draft position (ADP) of 180.3 overall and No. 60 amongst WRs in PPR leagues, according to FantasyPros. That means fantasy managers can draft the young Ravens wideout with one of their last picks. This is a situation in which little risk is involved, but there is a lot of potential reward.
The next few weeks of practice will play a key factor in whether or not Bateman's fantasy ranking goes sky high or remains relatively the same. He checks in as WR50 in The Duel's 2021 fantasy football rankings.
