March Madness Odds: Bettors Hit No. 12 UC Santa Barbara

Upsets are a big part of opening-round action during March Madness, and bettors are supporting more than just Ohio over Virginia on Friday. In the 12 vs 5 matchup in the West Region on Saturday, Cal-Santa Barbara (22-4) is getting a lot of betting support over Creighton (20-8).

Creighton vs UC Santa Barbara Betting

The Cal-Santa Barbara Gauchos won the Big West regular season and tournament titles. The Gauchos have won 18 of their last 19 games, and were favored in every contest. Now UCSB is taking significant points on the betting line against a Creighton team that stumbled a bit down the stretch while also dealing with a brief suspension of coach Greg McDermott. Creighton does have proven production and leaders in the backcourt, but Santa Barbara has a pair of senior guards including two-way player JaQuori McLaughlin - the Big West Conference Player of the Year.

That has bettors attention, as Santa Barbara has taken 70% of the spread bets and 78% of the spread money at FanDuel Sportsbook. The Gauchos have also taken 40% of the moneyline bets to win the game outright.
