Despite getting a few extra days to potentially recover, after last playing on Thursday night in Week 5, Todd Gurley is officially out for the Los Angeles Rams' Week 6 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.
With Gurley set to miss the game, that opens the door for Malcolm Brown and Darrell Henderson to get extended run on Sunday. Brown will likely shoulder lead-back duties, giving him a massive boost in fantasy as the Rams' featured back.
In Week 1, Gurley's most limited game of the season, Brown ran for 53 yards on 11 carries, while also scoring two touchdowns. With a full compliment of carries, Brown should slide in as an RB2 against the 49ers.
Darrell Henderson Fantasy Football
Also in the backfield for the Rams should be Henderson, a rookie that has seen just two offensive snaps this season. Henderson's fantasy football outlook puts him as more of a FLEX play, but he figures to be involved in some capacity.
McVay said that the team would eventually have to rely on Henderson and that it "might end up being this week." While he is still clearly behind Brown on the depth chart, it does sound like Henderson has enough upside to be in fantasy lineups, if Gurley is indeed inactive for Week 6.
