Luke Jackson Arbitration Case Decision Revealed
Reliever Luke Jackson is one of several Atlanta Braves players scheduled for an arbitration case hearing this season. Though Jackson won't be playing this year after undergoing Tommy John surgery in April, his salary for the 2022 campaign is still to be determined.
Now Jackson finally knows what he'll get paid after a ruling was announced in his case.
Luke Jackson Arbitration
Atlanta has defeated Jackson in arbitration, so the 30-year-old will earn $3.6 million in 2022. He initially filed at a higher number of $4 million.
This is just another unfortunate chapter in the reliever's year. He was diagnosed with a torn UCL in early April ahead of the season and needed to go under the knife to repair the injury.
Now Jackson will face an uphill battle to return and be effective again after Tommy John surgery. He was coming off of a stellar 2021 showing as a key member of the Braves' World Series victory, recording a 1.98 ERA and 70 strikeouts across 63.2 innings.
Atlanta has now won its second arbitration case this year after defeating Austin Riley just over a week ago.
