There's no denying that the LSU Tigers of 2020 just simply aren't the same team that they were last year, but it's hard to blame them after losing an NFL record-tying amount of talent to the league this spring.
However, the Tigers are still the reigning College Football Playoff National Champions and led by the same head coach that got them to that title last season in Ed Orgeron. That being said, the opening spread for LSU's next upcoming game in Week 11 against Alabama is just downright disrespectful.
Alabama vs LSU Spread 2020
Sitting roughly two weeks away from the 85th all-time meeting between these two storied football programs, the Alabama Crimson Tide have already opened as 21-point favorites to beat LSU in Week 11 on the road in Baton Rouge, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
Both teams have bye weeks to prepare for one another in Week 10 ahead of this clash, but giving LSU 21 points at home in Death Valley just feels awfully generous for a defending national champ, even against an undefeated No. 2 Crimson Tide team.
There's still plenty of time for things to change between now this Saturday's battle between these two SEC titans, but the Crimson Tide remain sizable early road favorites for the time being. Barring any massive line movement we may see in the meantime, LSU is currently set to host Alabama at 6 p.m. at Tiger Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020.
