The Detroit Lions are set to look a lot different in 2021 after they traded starting quarterback Matthew Stafford and lost No. 1 receiver Kenny Golladay to free agency this offseason. Making sure they make the most of the cap space they have available will be crucial to improving the roster.

Although the Lions have the 11th-lowest cap space number, they can still search through the free agent market to find some underrated signings to bring in. With that being said, here are three low-cost playmakers that Detroit can target.

1. Pharoh Cooper, WR/KR

The Lions need a player to fill the role left by free agent Jamal Agnew and one name that sticks out here is Pharoh Cooper. Cooper is a dangerous return man and a player that can bring a spark to the Lions special teams unit. In fact, he led the NFL in kick return average and yardage in 2017. Cooper can also contribute a little bit at wide receiver if needed. He averages 9.2 yards per reception in his career and had 243 receiving yards during the 2019 season. At only 26 years old, Cooper is a player that can improve if given more snaps on this Lions team.

2. Josh Reynolds, WR

In addition to Golladay, the Lions also lost No. 2 receiver Marvin Jones to free agency this offseason and now need all the help they can get at the position. Josh Reynolds is a great option here as he is bound to get lost in the mix amongst a loaded free agent wide receiver group. Reynolds set multiple career-high marks last season hauling in 52 receptions for 618 yards and 2 touchdowns. Plus, he already has experience playing with Lions' starting quarterback Jared Goff. This would be a way for the Lions to sign a young player that has a lot of upside without breaking the bank.

3. Adam Humphries, WR

Rounding out the triple-threat, Danny Amendola is also an unrestricted free agent now, leaving the Lions with a need in the slot. Adam Humphries didn't get much action in the run-first Tennessee Titans offense, but this is a guy who very quietly had three straight 50-reception and 600-plus yard seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2016 to 2018.
