The NIT championship game is set to tip off at 7 p.m. EST in New York City on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden.

The Lipscomb Bisons, who defeated Wichita State to advance to the championship, take on the Texas Longhorns, who topped TCU on Tuesday. The Longhorns are 1.5-point favorites in the NIT final, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

As it's always smart to hear what those in the industry have to say before placing a bet, here are some expert predictions for Thursday night's game.

Lipscomb vs Texas Predictions

Sports Chat Place

The team at Sports Chat Place notes that Lipscomb has been impressive on the offensive end all tournament, averaging 82.5 points per game. After picking against Lipscomb on Tuesday versus Wichita State, they're predicting the Bisons will pull off the upset and complete the Cinderella story, as a No. 5 seed, to win the NIT.

Bleacher Report

The team over at Bleacher Report is picking the Bisons as well. They believe that Lipscomb senior Garrison Matthews, who dropped 34 points against Wichita State, will lead his team to the promised land. Bleacher Reports also cites the Bisons' offense as a key factor in a potential Lipscomb victory. The Longhorns are averaging 63 points per game in their last two, while Lipscomb's 71-point performance on Tuesday was the first time it scored under 80 points in the NIT.

ESPN Basketball Power Index Matchup Predictor

ESPN's BPI is going the other way here, giving Texas a 54.7 percent chance to take home the NIT title.

That's two experts taking Lipscomb plus the points, but both predicting the Bisons will pull off the straight-up win, and ESPN's BPI giving the Longhorns the slight edge to pull out a win and take home the NIT championship on Thursday night.

New customers will get 40/1 on any of the Final Four teams to win the tournament.
