Lions Get Terrible Tyrell Williams Injury Update

Detroit Lions wide receiver Tyrell Williams suffered a concussion in the season-opener that sidelined him for the team's Week 2 loss against the Green Bay Packers. There was hope that Williams could return after rest, but it appears the issue is far from being solved.
The latest update on Williams is terrible news for Detroit.
The #Lions are placing WR Tyrell Williams on Injured Reserve and placed K Austin Seibert on the COVID list. They officially signed ILB Josh Woods from the #Bears practice squad. Jamie Collins sticks on the roster for now.

Tyrell Williams Injury
The wideout has officially been placed on injured reserve, indicating this is a serious injury he won't bounce back right away from. It's a huge blow to Detroit's offense as they now must soldier on without their No. 1 receiver for the time being.
Williams managed 2 receptions for 14 yards before being knocked out of the opener against the San Francisco 49ers. Being placed on IR means he won't be eligible to return until at least Week 6.
Williams' prolonged absence now opens up a huge opportunity for second-year wideout Quintez Cephus. The Wisconsin product turned 7 targets into 4 receptions for 63 yards and a TD (his second of the year) in Week 2 with Williams out.
The Lions enter their Week 3 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens as 7.5-point underdogs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
