When the Lions selected star wideout Jameson Williams in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft they fully knew that he would miss a large portion of his rookie season after tearing his ACL in the College Football National Championship game.

Jameson Williams Injury Update

Lions fans have been hearing rumblings of a potential return for Williams, but nothing too specific has emerged until now. Lions head coach Dan Campbell said on Wednesday that Williams will probably start the clock on his return after Thanksgiving.

Campbell could be talking about the 21-day timeframe teams have to get the player back on the field after returning to practice from the IR, but that window is a maximum, so Williams could be back much sooner. The Lions spent a lot of draft capital and confidence with selecting Williams, and when healthy, all signs point to him being a great wideout in the NFL. Of course there's also a balance, not wanting to rush things and risk further injury, especially during a season that is all but lost.

The Lions head into a Week 11 matchup with the New York Giants as 3-point road underdogs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
