The Detroit Lions featured one of the youngest secondaries in the NFL last year. Every snap has become crucial to their development, which makes the good news that comes with Jeff Okudah's latest injury update that much better. The cornerback is expected to be ready for the 2022 season.

Jeff Okudah injury Update

Head coach Dan Campbell spoke on Okudah's rehab progress at the NFL Combine in early March and said the 23-year-old is on track for a return in the summer. Of course, Okudah is coming off a scary Achilles injury suffered back in September. It was his second straight season cut short by an injury.

As Detroit's first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Okudah was and is still surrounded by high expectations. The former Ohio State standout has showcased his skills by racking up 51 tackles, 3 pass breakups and 1 interception in 10 career games. Seeing him 100% healthy would provide a huge boost on defense.

Fans caught a glimpse of the work Okudah is putting in after he posted a video of himself sprinting in a straight line on social media. A return seems to on the horizon, yet no one truly knows whether that'll be in minicamp in June or training camp in August. Keep an eye on the young ballhawk's status.

For now, Detroit has shifted their attention to the upcoming NFL Draft in hopes of securing a franchise talent with the No. 2 overall pick. Rumors have linked them to a ton of different prospects including Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson and Alabama offensive lineman Evan Neal.

The Lions have odds set at +14000 to win Super Bowl 57, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
