The Detroit Lions entered Sunday's Week 10 contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers winless so far in 2021. And while they didn't come away with a victory, they also didn't come away with a loss either.

After a back and forth overtime that resulted in no scores, the game ended in a tie. Detroit's starting quarterback Jared Goff had a rough game, no other way to put it. He only threw for 114 yards with 0 touchdowns and 0 interceptions, all adding up to a lowly 67.8 passer rating.

However, we have now discovered there may have been a reason for his poor play. Goff apparently suffered an oblique injury during the first quarter of the game and continued to play through it.

While Goff admitted to the injury, he didn't state it as a reason for his poor play.

"I don’t want to sit up here and say I was hurt and whatever and make excuses. It was bothering me, but I felt like I could compete and throw fine, and I felt like I did. I don’t feel like it was a hindrance at any point."

While Goff didn't have his best day on Sunday, he's certainly the best option the Lions have at quarterback. If they want to finally get one in the win column this year, keeping Goff under center is their best chance.

There's been no indication yet on his availability for Detroit's Week 11 game against the Cleveland Browns, but it's definitely something to monitor throughout the week as updates come in.

Detroit is currently a 10-point road underdog against Cleveland in Week 11, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
