The Texas Rangers would love to hit reset on the 2021 MLB season. Unfortunately, baseball doesn't allow that. This team is off to a dreadful start with an 19-24 overall record while sitting in last place in the AL West.

The offense ranks middle of the pack in terms of run production with 180 runs scored through 43 games. On the other hand, Texas' pitching staff looks like it won't cut it. The pitching staff owns a 4.38 ERA, which rates in the bottom 10 of the MLB.

One of the biggest bright spots, as he has been for the past few seasons, is the dynamic Joey Gallo. The combined OF/1B/DH owns "light tower power" including 7 HR, 21 RBIs, and a .751 OPS this season. According to recent reports, several teams are eyeing this left-handed power bat ahead of the MLB Trade Deadline.

Gallo is set to hit Arbitration-3 after this season and if the Rangers don't get things going, it may be time to deal the slugger. It's unclear if Texas has seriously considered this option, but with just +20000 odds to win the 2021 World Series (according to FanDuel Sportsbook), there's a distinct possibility of Gallo being moved.

Check out the three most likely teams to trade for Gallo.

Joey Gallo Trade Destinations

3. Miami Marlins

The Miami Marlins are an interesting choice here. Miami isn't a usual heavy-buyer at the trade deadline but this team has a load of young talent and sits just three games back in the NL East standings. Miami's outfield offensive production has not been up to par this season - their right fielders have put together a league-worst -0.2 OWAR in 2021. Starting RF Garrett Cooper is batting just .209 with 2 HR and 12 RBIs. Plus, Miami consistently has one of the most fruitful farm systems in the MLB. If Miami wanted to make another run at the playoffs, they definitely could with Gallo added to the lineup.

2. Los Angeles Angels

The Los Angeles Angels just cut future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols because of his lack of production at first base. Fortunately for the Halos, Gallo is also a dynamic defender who can play 1B. Still, this trade would center around adding some offensive punch to the Angels lineup. Los Angeles ranks fairly low in terms of left-handed hitting production - a spot that Gallo would easily fill. Los Angeles lefties have hit just 64 RBIs this season, which ranks in the bottom half of the MLB. Their 0.5 OWAR also ranks bottom half. The Angels are 18-22 and with the MVP type performances from Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani, it's time to add another slugger to the mix.

1. New York Yankees

Of course the New York Yankees land on this list. This team is always buying at the trade deadline, but this Gallo fit may be more serious than most rumors. The Yankees are 2.5 games back in the AL East with a 22-19 overall record. The offense seems to be turning a corner but this team is in desperate need of left-handed power at the plate. New York ranks bottom-3 in the entire league in left-handed HR (8), RBIs (28), and batting average (.166). For a team with the second-best odds to win the 2021 World Series at +700, this is a serious area of concern.
