Vegas Odds Say We'll See a Different Lamar Jackson in 2021

Since Lamar Jackson became the starting quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens halfway through the 2018 season he has dazzled as a dual-threat quarterback at a level we have never seen before.

In each of his two full seasons at the starter since then, Jackson has had at least 1,000 rushing yards to go along with at least 2,700 passing yards.

If we take a look at Jackson's projected over/under totals for each passing and rushing yards on FanDuel Sportsbook, the oddsmakers are painting a different picture of what we could see from the former MVP in 2021.

Jackson's over/under for total rushing yards in 2021 is set at 900.5, which would be over 100 yards below where he landed in each of his first two seasons as a starter. And this is their projection despite a 17th game being added to the NFL schedule in 2021.

When you take a look at Jackson's over/under for passing yards, the script is flipped, with the number being set at 3,400.5 yards. This would top his previous career high of 3,127 passing yards he set in 2019. That's not just a result of the 17th game, either, as it would also be a career high on a per-game basis.

It's interesting to see a guy who has relied so heavily on the run and not so much on the pass project for a career-low and high, respectively.

It might have to do with the fact the Ravens added some talent at the wide receiver position this offseason, mainly with the drafting of Minnesota wideout Rashod Bateman in the first round. A big-bodied wide receiver that should compliment Hollywood Brown well in this Ravens" offense.
