Everything seemingly went right for the Baltimore Ravens and quarterback Lamar Jackson in their Week 1 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. In a 59-10 win, where Jackson sat out the fourth quarter, the QB looked like a different beast while going 17-of-20 for 324 yards and five touchdowns, including two to rookie Marquise Brown.
That added up to lots of points for Jackson's fantasy football owners and it could be a sign of things to come.
In a game where the Ravens were favored by a touchdown, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, many figured Jackson would do it with his legs, like he did last season. However, it was the QB's arm that was the deadly weapon on Sunday.
Entering the 2019 season, Jackson's passing consistency was the biggest knock on his game, but after passing for more touchdowns (five) than he had rushing attempts (three), he proved many of the doubters wrong.
Jackson finished his day with 34.6 fantasy points in 4-point touchdown leagues, which will surely be one of the top QB performances of the week. Sure, the Dolphins aren't exactly the best defense, but his passing success proves what Jackson and the Ravens' offense is capable of moving forward.
Don't hesitate to lock Jackson in as a low-end QB1 when the Ravens take on the Arizona Cardinals at home in Week 2.
