The Los Angeles Lakers continue to flounder as the 2022-23 NBA season approaches its halfway point. Sitting at 17-21 and No. 12 in the Western Conference standings, the Lakers are doing anything they can to try and right the ship. While they will presumably attempt to make a splash at February's trade deadline, the Lakers are reportedly ready to make another smaller move on Friday.
NBA Insider Shams Charania is reporting the Lakers are progressing toward signing Sterling Brown to a 10-day contract. Brown, a five-year NBA veteran was with the Toronto Raptors G-League affiliate earlier this season.
Brown last played in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks in 2021-22, but his best season came two years ago with the Houston Rockets, where he averaged career highs in minutes per game (24.1), points (8.2), rebounds (4.4) and 3-point percentage (42.3%)
This isn't a huge fix for the Lakers, but they are giving him the opportunity to come in and contribute.
