Kyle Lowry Stays With Raptors at NBA Trade Deadline

Kyle Lowry was arguably the biggest name on the block heading into Thursday’s 3 p.m. EST NBA Trade Deadline, but he will ultimately be staying with the Toronto Raptors. General manager Masai Ujiri was reportedly asking for a haul, and no team was willing to meet his demands.
Lowry had previously stated that he would be fine with finishing out the season with the Raptors before testing the waters in free agency this offseason.
In the end, Masai Ujiri didn't find a package that compelled him to trade Kyle Lowry -- and Lowry had always been fine with completing the season with the Raptors, sources tell ESPN. Now, Lowry can head to free agency in the summer. https://t.co/JOoY9WMKNf

That said, the Raptors were busy before the deadline. They shipped Norman Powell off to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Gary Trent Jr. and Rodney Hood, and they also moved Matt Thomas and Terence Davis for future second-round picks.
Now, Lowry will see if he can lead the Raptors into the playoffs over the second half of the season. They currently occupy the No. 10 spot in the Eastern Conference standings, which would qualify them for the new play-in tournament.
