The Chicago Bulls have been a major disappointment to begin the 2022-23 season, prompting speculation about a potential roster shakeup in the coming months. Chicago decided to make a small move last Friday, waiving forward Kostas Antetokounmpo in order to sign guard Carlik Jones.

Now the former NBA champion has found a new basketball home overseas.

The 25-year-old is signing with Fenerbahce of Turkey's BSL and EuroLeague. Antetokounmpo's connection with Fenerbahce head coach Dimitris Itoudis, who's also the coach of the Greek national team, played a significant role in swaying him from other suitors.

Antetokounmpo began the year on a two-way deal with the Bulls, but he didn't log an NBA appearance this season. He did suit up in 12 contests for the Windy City Bulls in the G League, averaging 11.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.

The forward originally entered the league as a second-round pick in 2018. He's since played in 20 career NBA games for the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers, the latter of whom he won a ring with during the 2019-20 campaign.
