The Minnesota Vikings' slim playoff hopes just got a whole lot slimmer. Kirk Cousins has been ruled out of a must-win game against the Green Bay Packers, as the unvaccinated quarterback tested positive for covid this week.

Kirk Cousins Backup

With Cousins out, Minnesota will either be starting Sean Mannion or rookie Kellen Mond against the Green Bay Packers. While Mannion feels more likely to draw the start this week, neither player would offer much in the way of fantasy value.

Green Bay has an above-average pass defense by DVOA, and Minnesota's skill-position group is relatively banged up. Adam Thielen has been placed on injured reserve due to an ankle issue. It's hard to see a backup QB doing much against this Packers' defense.

Mond would have more fantasy value of the two because of his mobility, but neither player is worth a start this week.
