The New York Yankees jumped out to an impressive start in the ALDS, defeating the Minnesota Twins in Game 1, 10-4.

Things just keep getting better for the Bronx Bombers, as one key betting trend suggests that New York should be able to advance past Minnesota in this series.

After last night, the Twins have now lost a staggering 14 consecutive games in the MLB playoffs. That's the longest such streak in MLB history.

Additionally, 11 of those 14 losses have come against the Yankees. What's even potentially more concerning is that Minnesota has actually scored first in 10 of those games.

The last time the Twins defeated the Yankees in a postseason game was in 2004. For context, "Shrek 2" was the top grossing movie in 2004, and "Yeah!" (by Usher, feat. Lil Jon and Ludacris) was the No. 1 song.

Safe to say it's been a while.

To make matters worse, New York rebounded from that Game 1 loss in 2004 and the Yankees went on to defeat the Twins 3-1 in the ALDS that year.

Minnesota has a chance to buck this trend tonight in Game 2, but if the recent history is any indication, the Twins could struggle to defeat the Yankees here.
