Kenyan Drake has been a bright spot in a season where the Baltimore Ravens' running back room has been plagued by injuries. The 28-year-old veteran has excelled at everything that's been asked of him, leaving some to wonder how he's been this successful so far.

NFL Network's Steve Wyche recently asked Drake about the reason behind his hot start. The ex-Alabama rusher didn't hesitate to credit quarterback Lamar Jackson for his success, simply stating that Jackson is the "playmaker of the team."

Drake loves how Jackson's mobile style "creates these crazy running lanes" for the rest of the backfield. Defenses must respect the fact that Jackson can take off running at any moment, opening up the door for the RBs to have more favorable matchups.

Though Drake was familiar with the former MVP's talents before, he says witnessing what he can do in person is completely different.

"Seeing it on TV is one thing, but seeing it in person you're kind of tapping [Jackson] on the back of the helmet like 'I don't know how you made that play but let's keep going.'"

You can't blame Drake for being infatuated with his signal-caller. Since being given a bigger role in the Ravens' backfield in Week 6, the former third-round pick has turned 28 carries into 186 rushing yards with a touchdown while also making five catches for another 13 yards and a TD.

Gus Edwards is still dealing with a hamstring injury, meaning Drake could be lined up for a decent workload against the New Orleans Saints on Monday. New Orleans has the second-best rushing defense at home this season, so it'll be interesting to see how Baltimore's backfield handles things.

Ravens vs Saints Odds

Things look promising for Drake to have another productive game in Week 9. FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds currently list the Ravens as 2.5-point road favorites over the Saints in a contest where Drake has -105 odds to score an anytime touchdown.
