Keenan Allen went down with what looked to be a concerning back injury on Monday Night Football. The star wideout had back spasms that flared up after catching a touchdown in the second quarter against the New Orleans Saints.

The fact that he was unable to return is worrying, but the Los Angeles Chargers do catch a bit of a break as they're now on bye in Week 6 after some covid-related schedule changes.

Keenan Allen Injury Update

This shift gives Allen an extra week to get back to full health. But we still don't know anything concrete about his availability in Week 7 when the Chargers take on the 1-4 Jacksonville Jaguars.

Any extended absence for Allen would lead to Jalen Guyton and Mike Williams taking on an increased role in the offense.

Allen's status will be crucial for Chargers fans to keep an eye on as they prepare for Week 7.
