Kareem Hunt may not be the starting running back for the Cleveland Browns, but he makes up one part of a two-headed dragon in the backfield with Nick Chubb. The four-year pro heads into the fall with a lot of upside in fantasy football given he is on one of the best rushing teams in the entire league.

Kareem Hunt Fantasy Outlook

Hunt finished the 2020 season as one of the most underrated players at his position. By racking up 1,145 yards from scrimmage on 236 touches, he ended the year as the No. 10 running back in PPR scoring. That ranked ahead of Chubb and other notable players including Antonio Gibson and Chris Carson.

It wouldn't be surprising to see Hunt take on a bigger role on this offense moving forward due to his capabilities in the passing game. The 25-year-old hauled in 38 of his 51 targets for 304 yards and 5 touchdowns last season. His ability to get in the end zone is a major benefit for fantasy managers.

The Browns made a lot of strides last season and a lot of their success was due to the running game. Cleveland put up the fourth-most rushing yards (145.2) on the fifth-most rushing attempts (30.4) per game in 2020. It is clear that Hunt will have an opportunity to produce solid numbers as long as he can stay healthy.

It isn't often that two running backs on the same team are ranked in the top 25 at the position. However, Hunt has standalone value heading into the fall and managers can draft him knowing he comes with RB2 upside.

Hunt has an average draft position of No. 51 overall and No. 23 amongst running backs, according to FantasyPros. He checks in at RB24 in The Duel's 2021 fantasy football rankings.
