Kareem Hunt's fantasy football value has been tough to figure out heading into the 2020 NFL season. The Cleveland Browns have a clear No. 1 running back in Nick Chubb, but Hunt was always going to have a sizable role in the backfield.

The Browns just committed to Hunt with a new two-year deal, and that all but confirms that they plan on having him play a big role in this offense, strengthening his 2020 fantasy outlook.

Kareem Hunt Fantasy Outlook

Starting in Week 10, when Hunt made his Browns debut in 2020, Chubb only played 8.5 more snaps per game than Hunt did. Hunt was on the field for at least 54 percent of the Browns' offensive snaps in all eight of his games, and that included playing at least 60 percent in four of the final five games.

Hunt was clearly the favored back in the passing game, racking up 44 targets while Chubb saw just 17 during that stretch.

Hunt even out-produced Chubb over the final five games of the season, averaging 13.0 PPR fantasy points per game to Chubb's 11.0. Hunt out-snapped Chubb in three of those five contests.

This extension doesn't necessarily change Hunt's fantasy outlook, but it does increase the level of confidence that fantasy football managers can have in him.

He's clearly in the Browns' offensive plans, and he checks in at RB25 in our 2020 fantasy football rankings.
