The Denver Broncos are preparing for a Week 6 Monday Night Football matchup with the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers. While Denver's offense has been horrendous so far this season, the defense has actually performed quite well, ranking No. 4 in the NFL in opponent points per game.
Justin Simmons Injury Update
Free safety Justin Simmons is a huge part of that defense, so it was encouraging news for the Broncos on Thursday when Simmons said that his quad is feeling good and he hopes to play Monday night.
Simmons hasn't been able to suit up since the team's Week 1 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, but he was impactful in that game, recording 9 tackles and a fumble recovery.
The former Pro Bowler is a key cog in Denver's defense and getting him back will only make the unit even stronger.
If Simmons returns, he'll try to help the Broncos slow down the Chargers' high-octane offense. Denver is currently listed as a 4.5-point road underdog against Los Angeles on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
