JuJu Smith-Schuster's career with the Pittsburgh Steelers may have come to an end last night. And if it was his last game in Pittsburgh, he certainly didn't get the storybook ending he was looking for. His Steelers were throttled by the Cleveland Browns in the Wild Card Round, 48-37, and JuJu was the subject of constant post-game ridicule for comments he made earlier in the week.
But there's no denying the 24-year-old's talent. He's a tough, hard-nosed receiver who has a knack for moving the chains. Set to enter unrestricted free agency this offseason, here are the three most likely destinations for the fourth-year wideout.
3. Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts are currently projected to have the third-most cap space next season. This team also clearly needs to add a few more playmakers, and JuJu would be a really solid fit. He's at his best when he's used as a possession receiver on shorter routes. With T.Y. Hilton taking the top off the defense, JuJu could shine while working underneath, regardless of who is playing QB in Indianapolis.
2. Washington Football Team
JuJu and Terry McLaurin would form one of the best young receiver duos in the league if the Washington Football Team managed to sign him. They're also different enough players to thrive in the same offense, with McLaurin being the more dynamic playmaker and JuJu working as a possession receiver. The skill-position group was a real weakness for the team this season, but adding JuJu would instantly turn it into a strength, making life much easier for Washington's next QB.
1. Jacksonville Jaguars
Assuming the Jacksonville Jaguars pick Trevor Lawrence at No. 1 overall, or even Justin Fields, adding JuJu makes a ton of sense. This team needs a legit playmaker opposite of DJ Chark, and JuJu would slot in nicely there. Plus, he's young enough to fit with this team's developmental timeline while also being experienced enough to bring some much-needed veteran leadership to this receiving corps. Projected to have more cap space than any other team in the league, Jacksonville needs to get its new franchise QB some help, and there aren't many better options than JuJu.
