Josh Jacobs, the only running back taken in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, has made a huge impact for both the Oakland Raiders and for fantasy football owners that took him with a high pick of their own.
Jacobs ranks fifth in the NFL with 92.5 rushing yards per game, and his 16.4 PPR fantasy points per game ranks 12th among running backs. He remains a top fantasy option in a Week 10 "Thursday Night Football" matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.
It took some time for Jacobs to get all the way up to speed in the Oakland offense, as he played less than 50 percent of the offensive snaps in Week 2 and Week 3, combining for 24 carries and two targets during those two games. Things have picked up in a huge way recently though, as the back is averaging 108.3 rushing yards on 22.5 carries per game over the last four, not falling below a 55 percent snap share during that time.
That volume should translate to another big game on Thursday, as the Los Angeles Chargers rank 25th against the run in Football Outsiders' defensive DVOA rankings. They're also getting burned for top-10 fantasy production by opposing running backs on the year, in both standard scoring and PPR formats.
