The Buffalo Bills were named one of this offseason's biggest winners after they nabbed star defender Von Miller in free agency. Buffalo beat out several other suitors to sign the former Super Bowl MVP, and it turns out quarterback Josh Allen may have helped in swaying Miller to join the Bills.
Allen's recruitment pitch to the eight-time Pro Bowler included a roast session of his fellow AFC East QBs.

Allen and practice squad signal-caller Matt Barkley were called upon by GM Brandon Beane to recruit Miller in free agency, according to Kalyn Kahler of The Athletic. The two QBs eventually got ahold of the All-Pro defender, and Allen simply sent the three names of the other starters in the division (Zach Wilson, Tua Tagovailoa, Mac Jones) via text.
Barkley told Kahler it was a "have at it" kind of message, clearly suggesting those three would be prime opponents for Miller to beat up on six times a year.
It's downright hilarious to see Allen using his division rivals as motivation in a recruitment pitch. Though the QB maintains a very professional persona, this is a rare behind-the-curtain look at the MVP candidate letting loose a little bit.
Unfortunately, Miller's devastating knee injury prevented him from playing all six divisional games. He still recorded a sack and forced fumble against the New York Jets, though, showing he's going to be a menace in the AFC East for years to come.
