Josh Allen might be the most polarizing quarterback in football. There seems to be an equal number of fans and media members on both sides of the debate. One side believes Allen is the future of the Buffalo Bills, without a doubt. The other believes, well, essentially the opposite of that.
Unfortunately for Bills fans, it's clear where the oddsmakers fall on this one. FanDuel Sportsbook's projected passing totals for Allen are so low they can only be described as disrespectful.
Allen's projected yardage total has been set at over/under 3,249.5 while his touchdown total is available at over/under 20.5. Of the 15 quarterbacks FanDuel has odds available for, Allen has the second-lowest passing yardage total and the outright lowest passing touchdown total. He's even significantly behind rookie QB Joe Burrow in both categories.
To be fair, the lower-than-normal passing projections could be due to how often Allen runs the ball (109 carries in 2019).
Still, though, Allen was just 160.5 yards short of hitting the over on his passing yards, and 1 passing touchdown short of cashing the TD total. It certainly feels worth mentioning that while Allen played all 16 games, he missed all but two drives of a meaningless Week 17 contest. If he plays Week 17, it's safe to assume he'd have hit both totals given his per-game averages.
Allen also gets to throw the ball to Stefon Diggs this year – a luxury he didn't have in 2019.
With the potential for a third-year leap in a much-improved Bills' offense, Allen should be able to clear these projected totals with ease.
