Jose Ramirez Makes Guardians History With Wednesday's Grand Slam

In what was seen as a somewhat surprising move from the front office given their normal budgetary constraints, the Cleveland Guardians kicked off the season on a positive note. Cleveland locked up three-time All-Star third baseman Jose Ramirez to a lengthy seven-year extension.
Ramirez seems to be happy about the long-term deal, judging by his early-season performance. And now the 3B has even made team history.
Jose Ramirez Grand Slam
As part of a nine-run eruption, Ramirez hammered a grand slam in the second inning of Wednesday's matinee game against the Chicago White Sox. This was Ramirez's second grand slam already this season.
According to MLB writer Sarah Langs, this makes the 29-year-old slugger the only player in franchise history to hit two grand slams in the month of April, and he's done so in just 10 games.

José Ramírez is the only Cleveland player to ever hit two grand slams before the end of April, let alone the first 10 games of the season.
What an awesome moment for Ramirez. It goes to show the sort of positivity and security that can be accomplished through seamless contract negotiations.

Hopefully Ramirez continues to rake like this all season long.
