Joe Staley Thinks Deebo Samuel Can Be Better Than Julio Jones, DeAndre Hopkins and Others

Joe Staley recently announced his retirement, but has been in the news a lot lately for his positive comments about his now former 49ers teammates. The latest one to receive such praise is young wide receiver Deebo Samuel.

Staley believes that Samuel has the ability to become the best receivers in the NFL. That's right — better than guys like Julio Jones, DeAndre Hopkins and Odell Beckham, among others.
That is certainly a big reputation to live up to, but Staley seems confident in it. Samuel, as a rookie in 2019, totaled 57 receptions 802 yards, 3 touchdowns. Entering his second year on a team that is retuning much of a Super Bowl roster, we should see a jump in Samuel's impressive rookie numbers.
We were all really excited about the 2020 WR class but the 2019 crop started extremely strong.

Confident these guys can be quality starters to star level players for years:
Hollywood Brown
A.J. Brown
D.K. Metcalf
Deebo Samuel
Terry McLaurin
Diontae Johnson
With another year of healthy Jimmy G and in the Kyle Shanahan offense, it seems like Staley believes the sky is the limit for Samuel. And to reach the status Staley is talking about, the sky is where he'll have to reach.
